When following veterinarian advise or claims, use caution.

A majority of veterinarians have commercial paid partnerships with certain pet food products; thus, exercise cautious as their advise on nutrition may not be neutral. Furthermore, canine nutrition is not included in most veterinarian studies, unless the veterinarian in question chooses to pursue further training in canine nutrition. For unbiased advice on your dog's diet, we recommend to consult a canine nutritionist, preferably who is not linked with any pet food company. Such canine nutritionists might be discovered online or in the region you live in.
Remember to exercise common sense, and search for accurate information when it comes to your dog's health and diet.

Not all scientific data and studies are equal.

Not all scientific evidence is equal, objective, or trustworthy. At The Vegan Dog Coach, we carefully choose unbiased research and publish scientific findings that are not sponsored by pet food manufacturers or doesn't have any conflict of interest. The research and published data utilized in our website and instructional materials are the most recent, rigorous science that is free of conflicts of interest, trustworthy and peer-reviewed.

We believe that commercial pet and cat diets are complete; yet, studies reveal that we should reconsider!

The mineral content of 177 UK-sold kibble and wet food brands for dogs and cats was analysed, revealing significant and worrying findings.

Only 6% (6/97) of wet and 38% (30/80) of dry food were nutriotnnally complete in regard of the sanitary authorities regarding minerals composition.

20% of wet food failed to provide nutritional minimum, while 76% of wet food exceeded nutritional maximum allowed by authorities for canine  and felines safety.

The study conclude that " If fed exclusively and over an extended period, a number of these pet foods could impact the general health of companion animals. "
